Govardhan Rural Development was started in 2010, with the inspiration of His Holiness Radhanath Swami Maharaj. After having inspired a few of his followers to begin a health care center which grew into a 200+ bed multispeciality center, a food for life program which now serves more than 300000+ students daily. He wanted to focus on the rural parts of Palghar - where he saw abject poverty. Radhanath Swami inspired his followers to create a program of empowerment for integrated development of the rural households.
